vPresenter FAQs
I've downloaded the media player installation file, why won't the media play? Make sure you have actually run the installation file you downloaded. Downloading alone will not install the player.
I see the player in the browser, why won't the media play? Try pressing the play button. The media is supposed to start playing automatically, but sometimes it may need a little help. Also, check the status of the media at the very bottom of the player. If the word 'buffering' appears there, the media is on its way. Just give it a moment.
The media is playing, why can't I hear it? Check your volume controls. It's a simple solution, but one that is often overlooked. Also check that your speakers or headphones are plugged in properly.
The media keeps starting and stopping. Why is it constantly being interrupted? If you are using a slower connection, or Internet traffic is very heavy, the media may be having trouble playing over the network to your computer. Sometimes these breaks happen once or twice within a long file. If they happen every few seconds, you may consider stopping and trying the media at another time.
I'm running WMP9, why won't the video play? Some installations of Windows Media Player 9 do not include the Acelp.Net audio codec. Without this codec, the vPresenter interface will load, but the video hangs with a 'Loading...' message in the status bar. This issue can be resolved by manually installing the Acelp.Net codec. To download the installer, download it from here: http://www.voiceage.com/acelp_eval.php and choose to save it to your desktop. Once the download is complete, double-click the acelp_net.exe application to install.
I'm using WMP, why is the image resolution of the software demonstrations is fuzzy or unclear? Your display drivers may be having conflicts with your media player. To alleviate this problem, please follow these steps:
1. With the demonstration open, right click on the image and select Options, as shown below:
2. On the Performance tab, set Video acceleration to none
3. Click Apply
4. Click OK
5. You will be prompted to accept the changes and reload the media. If the resolution has not improved, try closing the demonstration, and re-launching for changes to take effect

I'm using WMP, why are the colors in the video displaying incorrectly? Your media player may be experiencing display driver conflicts. To alleviate this problem, please follow the steps in the previous FAQ to turn off video acceleration.
I am playing a vPresenter presentation through a projector, why is the video image playing at full screen? Most laptops allow you to switch between LCD-only, LCD+External (ie, the projector) and External-only. Try toggling to External-only; this seems to work on all systems.
The disadvantage of this is that you won't be able to view the presentation on your laptop screen. If that's a problem, check your video driver settings (and a big thanks to PowerPoint newsgroup contributor, ZEX, for this):
This often happens when the graphics card of a computer is set to display overlay at a full screen. It's common with Nvidia and ATI based cards.
Check your display settings for overlay controls:
For ATI cards:
For NVidia cards:
These controls may not be in the same place (or even available) in all drivers. You may need to have your projector or other external video hooked up in order to set them. [Reprinted from RDPSlides.com]
