Overview
Altus Learning System's Rapid eLearning Solution is primarily comprised of two user-facing components: vPortal (the 'portal') and vPresenter (the 'player').
vPortal is the nerve center of the Altus solution. All data from presentations are contained within the vPortal database and all end user access to the content is achieved via vPortal. vPortal provides a robust portal interface for end users to browse and search for the exact knowledge they need. vPortal serves as both a content management system and single point of access for content. In addition, vPortal content management capabilities enable it to manage and deliver a variety of other media and file types such as PowerPoint documents, MP3s and MP4s, PDFs and zip archives.
In addition to content delivery, vPortal now provides a variety of features enabling collaboration and reuse of content. Our customizable home page provides windows into all of the available functionality.
Note that some features noted in the help may not be enabled on your version of vPortal.
vPresenter is a flexible presentation layer for delivering content to end users. Altus creates customized interfaces using the vPresenterapplication programming interface and vPresenter "skinning" technology is used for customer branding. In addition to its flexibility, vPresenter enables a robust set of user interface functionality, ranging from slide synchronization and transcript scrolling to granular indexing, variable speed control and bookmarking of individual topics.
